The Max & George Trust

Dog Rescue & much more

Dog rescue and rehabilitation centre based in Staffordshire.

But, we are so much more than a dog rescue. We also assist dog owners who have lost their dogs and work closely with our friends at DroneSAR, we match up elderly dogs with elderly people to help combat loneliness and we provide therapy dogs to visit schools, care homes and hospitals to help boost moral, relieve stress and improve mental health to those in need as dogs can be incredibly therapeutic.

We are also, as far as we know, the UK’s only focused and dedicated leishmaniasis support centre.

We assess and treat every dog that comes to M&GT for help as an individual, thereby treating each dogs own needs. This is the only way we can give them the best care, rehabilitate them and then re-home. For each dog it’s a journey.

Whether you are looking for advice, needed to re-home your dog, need urgent respite care for your dog, have a leish dog or lost a dog we are here to help.

The Max & George Trust is not just a dog rescue, it is MUCH MUCH more than a dog rescue. We strive hard to give back to the local community with projects that include tea and tails friendship club for the elderly, therapy dogs for children with anxiety and special needs as our dogs out and about visiting care homes and hospitals, SEN school visits, educational visits and work experience placements for local colleges and universities.
There are many ways you can help support us. We use around 80 tins of dog food a day and over 25kg of dry food, so we always welcome food donations which you can drop off, take to a drop off point, send to us direct or use the Amazon Wishlist. We spend approx £1840 on worming tablets and flea treatments per month and spend on average between £8,000 and £15,000 each month on veterinary treatments and medicines. We really do value your cash donations whether paid direct to us or our vets. Aside from that, we have the everyday running costs which includes rent, utilities, fuel, telephone, stationary etc etc.
